Lime, Honey & Chia Seed Drink
Ingredients
- 1 fresh lime
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1–2 teaspoons honey
- 1 glass (250–300 ml) water
- Ice cubes, optional
Recipe
For one serving, combine 1 tablespoon chia seeds + 250–300 ml water + juice of ½–1 lime + 1–2 teaspoons honey.
How to Make
- Add 1 tablespoon of chia seeds to a glass of water.
- Stir thoroughly so the chia seeds do not clump together.
- Let the mixture sit for 10–15 minutes, until the chia seeds absorb some of the water and develop a soft gel-like coating.
- Cut a fresh lime in half and squeeze ½–1 lime into the chia water.
- Add 1–2 teaspoons of honey.
- Stir everything together until the honey is fully dissolved.
- Add a few lime slices and ice cubes if desired.
- Stir once more before drinking because the chia seeds may settle.
When to Drink
Enjoy it freshly prepared, such as with breakfast or between meals. If you have a sensitive stomach or citrus tends to cause heartburn, having it with food may be more comfortable.
Tip: This is a refreshing chia drink, but avoid presenting it as a “Botox drink” that removes wrinkles or reverses aging—the ingredients don’t have evidence for effects that dramatic.
