🥑 Creamy Avocado Ice Cream — Easy Homemade Recipe

If you love creamy desserts but want something simple and fresh, this Avocado Ice Cream is a great one to save. It’s smooth, rich, lightly sweet, and you don’t need an ice cream machine.

The avocado gives the ice cream its naturally creamy texture and pale green color, while Greek yogurt and coconut milk make it even silkier.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/3 cup coconut milk
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice

Optional toppings

  • Crushed pistachios
  • Coconut flakes
  • Thin avocado slices
  • A small drizzle of honey
  • Fresh mint

How to Make Avocado Ice Cream

1. Prepare the avocado

Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop out the flesh.

Make sure the avocados are fully ripe. Soft ripe avocado gives the smoothest texture and the best flavor.

2. Add everything to the blender

Add to the blender:

Avocado → Greek yogurt → coconut milk → honey → vanilla → lime juice.

The lime juice adds freshness and also helps the avocado keep a brighter green color.

3. Blend until creamy

Blend on high speed until the mixture becomes completely smooth.

The texture should be thick, silky, and creamy, similar to a soft mousse or soft-serve texture.

If the mixture is too thick for your blender, add an extra 1–2 tablespoons coconut milk.

4. Pour into a container

Transfer the avocado mixture into a freezer-safe glass container.

Use a spatula to scrape the blender well and smooth the top.

Cover tightly with a lid.

5. Freeze

Place the container in the freezer for around 4–6 hours, or until the ice cream is firm enough to scoop.

For a softer texture, check it around the 4-hour mark.

6. Let it soften before scooping

When ready to serve, remove the container from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for about 5–10 minutes.

This makes scooping much easier and gives the ice cream a creamier texture.

7. Scoop and decorate

Scoop the avocado ice cream into a dessert bowl.

Top with:

  • crushed pistachios
  • coconut flakes
  • a tiny drizzle of honey
  • fresh mint

You can also add a few thin avocado slices for presentation.

Tips for the Creamiest Avocado Ice Cream

Use full-fat Greek yogurt and full-fat coconut milk for a richer result.

Choose avocados that are soft but not brown inside. Overripe avocado can make the flavor bitter or dull.

Do not add too much liquid, or the ice cream may freeze too hard and icy.

If you want it sweeter, increase the honey to 3 tablespoons.

Quick Recipe

2 avocados + 1/2 cup Greek yogurt + 1/3 cup coconut milk + 2 tbsp honey + 1 tsp vanilla + 1 tbsp lime juice → blend → freeze 4–6 hours → scoop → decorate.

🥑🍨 Creamy, refreshing, and surprisingly easy to make at home.
