Kevin Joseph Aloysius Connors, known to the world as Chuck, carved out an indelible niche in Hollywood history, most famously as Lucas McCain in the beloved series The Rifleman. But beyond his iconic spin with a rifle and his memorable performances in classics like Old Yeller, Chuck Connors held a secret that might just make your jaw drop.

Long before he was a household name on screen, Chuck Connors was a genuine multi-sport athlete, making history in a way very few ever have. Did you know he’s one of only 13 athletes in American history to play in BOTH Major League Baseball (MLB) AND the NBA?
Connors showcased his talent on the baseball diamond for the Brooklyn Dodgers and Chicago Cubs. Then, he dribbled and shot hoops for the Boston Celtics in the NBA. But his most astonishing athletic feat occurred during a 1946 pre-game warmup with the Celtics.
