These Chocolate Blender Donuts are soft, moist, chocolatey, and incredibly easy to make. Everything goes straight into the blender, so there’s no complicated mixing and no frying required.
Blend the batter, pour it directly into a donut pan, bake until fluffy, then dip each donut in rich melted chocolate. 🍫
Ingredients
For the Donuts
- 1 ripe banana
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup (120 ml) milk
- ¼ cup (60 ml) maple syrup or honey
- 1 cup (90 g) rolled oats
- ¼ cup (25 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp vanilla extract, optional
- Pinch of salt
For the Chocolate Coating
- 100 g dark chocolate
- 1 tsp coconut oil, optional
- Chocolate shavings or cacao nibs for topping
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Lightly grease a donut pan so the baked donuts release easily.
Step 2: Add the Ingredients to the Blender
Start with an empty blender.
Add the ingredients in this order:
Banana → eggs → milk → maple syrup → rolled oats → cocoa powder → baking powder → vanilla → pinch of salt.
Using a very ripe banana will give the donuts more natural sweetness and a softer texture.
Step 3: Blend Until Smooth
Secure the lid and blend until everything transforms into a smooth, thick chocolate batter.
The batter should be:
Thick + silky + glossy + pourable.
It should fall from a spoon in a slow, heavy ribbon rather than pouring like a thin smoothie.
If the batter is too thick for your blender, add another 1–2 tablespoons of milk.
Step 4: Pour Into the Donut Pan
Pour the chocolate batter directly from the blender into the donut pan.
Fill each donut cavity about ¾ full.
Avoid filling them completely because the donuts will rise while baking.
Step 5: Bake
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 12–15 minutes.
The donuts are ready when they’ve puffed slightly and the tops spring back when gently touched.
A toothpick inserted into the thickest part should come out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs.
Don’t overbake them—the center should stay soft and moist.
Step 6: Cool
Let the donuts cool in the pan for about 5 minutes.
Carefully remove them and transfer them to a cooling rack.
Allow them to cool before dipping them in chocolate.
Step 7: Make the Chocolate Coating
Melt 100 g dark chocolate until smooth.
For an extra glossy coating, mix in 1 teaspoon of coconut oil.
The chocolate should be smooth enough for dipping but still thick enough to coat the donuts generously.
Step 8: Dip the Donuts 🍫
Take one donut and dip the top half into the melted chocolate.
Slowly lift it from the bowl and allow the excess chocolate to drip off.
Place it back on the cooling rack.
Repeat with the remaining donuts.
Step 9: Add the Toppings
While the chocolate is still glossy and wet, sprinkle with:
Chocolate shavings, cacao nibs, mini chocolate chips, or chopped nuts.
Let the chocolate set for a few minutes.
The Perfect Texture
Break one donut open and you should find a soft, moist, fluffy chocolate center with small natural air pockets.
The banana helps keep the crumb tender, while the oats give the donuts a little more substance.
Combined with the glossy dark chocolate coating, they taste rich and indulgent without needing to be deep-fried.
Tips for the Best Chocolate Blender Donuts
Use a very ripe banana for better sweetness and texture.
Keep the batter fairly thick. Too much milk can make the donuts flatter and less fluffy.
Avoid overbaking. Start checking around the 12-minute mark.
For the prettiest chocolate coating, let the donuts cool before dipping.
And for an even richer chocolate flavor, add a small pinch of espresso powder to the blender.
