Dragon Fruit Banana Ice Cream 🍌💗

Looking for a refreshing homemade frozen treat that’s easy to make? This Dragon Fruit Banana Ice Cream is creamy, naturally colorful, and requires only 4 simple ingredients.

Frozen banana creates a rich, creamy base, while red dragon fruit gives the ice cream its gorgeous bright pink color. Greek yogurt adds extra creaminess, and a little honey brings everything together.

🍦 Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced and frozen
  • 1 cup red dragon fruit, cubed and frozen
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Optional toppings:

  • Fresh dragon fruit pieces
  • Banana slices
  • Chopped nuts
  • Fresh mint leaves

🥣 How to Make It

1. Freeze the Fruit

Peel and slice two ripe bananas. Cut the red dragon fruit into small cubes.

Place both fruits in the freezer until completely frozen, ideally for at least 3–4 hours or overnight.

Using frozen fruit from the beginning helps create a much thicker and creamier texture.

2. Add Everything to the Blender

Place the frozen banana slices and frozen red dragon fruit into a high-powered blender.

Add 1/2 cup Greek yogurt and 2 tablespoons of honey.

3. Blend Until Creamy

Blend everything until completely smooth.

You may need to stop the blender occasionally and scrape down the sides. Continue blending until the mixture becomes thick, silky, and beautifully bright pink.

Avoid adding water unless absolutely necessary, as too much liquid can make the finished ice cream icy instead of creamy.

4. Freeze

Transfer the mixture into a freezer-safe glass container.

Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to smooth the surface. Cover the container and freeze for approximately 3 hours, or until firm enough to scoop.

5. Scoop & Decorate

Remove the ice cream from the freezer. If it feels very firm, allow it to sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes before scooping.

Scoop into a dessert glass or bowl and decorate with a few pieces of fresh dragon fruit, banana, chopped nuts, or mint.

💗 Tips for the Creamiest Texture

Use very ripe bananas because they provide more natural sweetness and a creamier texture. Full-fat Greek yogurt will also produce a richer result.

For an extra-thick ice cream, make sure both fruits are completely frozen before blending.

You can also adjust the honey to taste. Very ripe bananas and sweet dragon fruit may need less.
