The Secret Story: A Salad Dressing Bet!
Beyond his legendary acting career, Paul Newman was known for his sharp wit and philanthropic spirit. Here’s a little-known tidbit: Newman once made a bet with director George Roy Hill during the filming of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. The stakes? Newman bet Hill he could make a better salad dressing than the one served on set. If Newman won, Hill had to pay him a substantial sum. If Newman lost, he’d pay Hill. Well, Newman *did* win – and his homemade salad dressing was so good, he started bottling it!
