“Why Can’t I Have Cake?” — The Little Girl’s Sweetest Request
It was a quiet afternoon in the family kitchen.
Sunlight filled the room while Ethan sat at the dining table with something he had been waiting for all day—a huge slice of chocolate cake covered in thick white frosting.
He scooped up the first bite.
Just as the spoon reached his mouth, he heard tiny footsteps behind him.
“Ethan!”
His little sister Sophie came running into the kitchen, hugging her favorite stuffed bunny.
Her eyes immediately locked onto the chocolate cake.
“Cake!” she exclaimed.
Ethan looked over his shoulder and quickly pulled the plate closer to himself.
Sophie hurried to the table.
“Can I have some?”
Ethan shook his head.
“No.”
Sophie stopped.
Her excited smile disappeared.
“Why?”
Ethan calmly took another bite.
“Because it’s mine.”
Sophie hugged her bunny and moved closer.
“Please?”
“No.”
“Just one bite?”
Ethan shook his head again.
Sophie wasn’t ready to give up.
She clasped her tiny hands together and gave him her most convincing expression.
“Please, Ethan! Just a little piece!”
Ethan tried not to laugh.
Then an idea suddenly came to him.
He put down his spoon and looked at his little sister very seriously.
“You really want some?”
Sophie immediately nodded.
“Yes!”
“Really, really want some?”
“Yes!”
Ethan leaned toward her.
“Then you need 1,000 followers first.”
Sophie blinked.
“One… thousand?”
“Yep.”
She looked at the cake.
Then at Ethan.
Then back at the cake.
Her face suddenly became extremely serious.
There was only one thing left to do.
Sophie Makes Her Big Request
Sophie turned toward the camera.
Still holding her stuffed bunny tightly, she walked closer and looked directly into the lens with enormous hopeful eyes.
“Guys…”
She put her little hands together.
“Please follow me!”
Ethan started laughing behind her.
But Sophie wasn’t joking.
She pointed dramatically toward the chocolate cake.
“I really want that cake!”
Then she looked back into the camera.
“Please help me get 1,000 followers!”
Behind her, Ethan casually picked up another spoonful.
Sophie gasped.
“HEY! Stop eating it!”
Ethan laughed and quickly took the bite.
Sophie turned back toward the camera with an even more desperate expression.
“Quick! Before he eats the whole thing!”
She hugged her bunny and waited hopefully.
Ethan looked at the remaining cake.
Then at his little sister.
“Okay,” he said. “If they help you reach 1,000, I’ll give you the biggest piece.”
Sophie smiled from ear to ear.
“Promise?”
“Promise.”
She immediately faced the camera again.
“You heard him!”
Then she pointed at the cake one final time.
“Please follow so I can finally get my cake!”
And from that moment on, Sophie had only one question:
Would the internet help her reach 1,000 followers before Ethan finished the last slice? 🍰
