David’s wife dragged a suitcase into the living room and pointed toward the front door.

“We need this house. You’ll have to live somewhere else.”

David’s elderly mother stared at her son, waiting for him to defend her.

“We need privacy, Mom,” he whispered.

Her heart broke, but she slammed her keys onto the table.

“This is my house. Neither of you can force me out.”

Chapter 2: The Hidden Debt

A bank letter on the table caught her attention. As she read it, her hands began to shake.

A large mortgage had been requested in her name.

“I never applied for this!” she cried. “Why is the bank checking my credit?”

David and his wife went pale. They refused to look at her.

Then she noticed the signature at the bottom—it looked like hers, but she had never signed it.

“What did you two do?”

Chapter 3: The Final Trap

The next morning, a bank investigator arrived with the police. David’s wife had forged the signature, but David had secretly provided his mother’s documents.

They had planned to take the loan, renovate the house, and send her away before she discovered the debt.

As officers led them outside, David begged for forgiveness.

His mother looked at him with tears in her eyes.

“You didn’t just try to steal my house, David. You destroyed the last piece of trust I had in you.”
