The Waitress Brought Wine to Their Table — Then Both Children Started Calling Her “Mom” | Part 2
It was supposed to be an ordinary family dinner.
The elegant restaurant was filled with soft music, quiet conversations, and the gentle sound of glasses touching across beautifully decorated tables.
At one of the most private tables sat a wealthy businessman with his family.
Beside him was his beautiful wife, dressed elegantly for the evening.
Across from them sat their two young children—a little boy and his younger sister.
From the outside, they looked like the perfect family.
The children were laughing.
Their mother was smiling.
And their father seemed relaxed as he looked over the dinner menu.
Nobody at the table could have imagined that within the next few minutes, one young waitress would completely change the atmosphere.
And perhaps their entire family.
The Waitress Walked Toward Their Table
The young blonde waitress carefully balanced a tray in her hands.
On it were several wine glasses ordered by the couple.
She had served hundreds of families since she began working at the restaurant, so there was nothing unusual about this table.
At least, that’s what she thought.
“Your wine, sir,” she said politely as she approached.
The husband looked up.
And immediately, something changed in his expression.
His smile disappeared.
For a second, he simply stared at the waitress.
She noticed.
“Sir?”
The man quickly looked away.
“Nothing. Thank you.”
His wife glanced at him curiously.
“Do you know her?”
“No.”
His answer came almost too quickly.
The waitress didn’t think much of it.
She carefully lowered the tray and reached for the first glass.
Then she heard a tiny voice behind her.
“Mom?”
Her hand stopped.
She slowly turned around.
The little girl was staring directly at her.
The waitress blinked.
“I’m sorry?”
The girl suddenly smiled.
“Mama!”
The entire table went silent.
Then the Little Boy Said It Too
The wife stared at her daughter in confusion.
“What did you just say?”
But before the girl could answer, her older brother looked at the waitress too.
His expression changed instantly.
He pushed his chair back.
“Mom!”
The waitress nearly dropped the glass.
Both children were now looking directly at her.
“Mama!”
“Mommy!”
The little girl even reached her arms toward the waitress as though she wanted to be picked up.
The young woman stood completely frozen.
She had never seen these children before.
At least…
she didn’t think she had.
“I think you’re confusing me with someone else,” she said softly.
But the children wouldn’t stop.
“Mama!”
The boy pointed toward her.
“That’s Mom!”
Now several guests at nearby tables had begun looking over.
The waitress became increasingly uncomfortable.
But nobody looked more uncomfortable than the children’s father.
His face had gone completely pale.
Their Father Looked Terrified
The waitress noticed his reaction.
He wasn’t laughing.
He wasn’t confused.
He wasn’t even asking his children why they were behaving strangely.
Instead, he was staring at her as though he had just seen someone who was never supposed to appear again.
His hand tightened around the edge of the table.
His wife noticed immediately.
“Honey?”
He didn’t answer.
She looked from her husband to the waitress.
Then back to her husband.
“What’s going on?”
“Nothing.”
Again, his answer came too quickly.
The wife’s expression hardened.
“Why are you looking at her like that?”
“I’m not.”
“Yes, you are.”
The waitress took a small step backward.
She wanted nothing more than to place the wine down and walk away.
But the little girl suddenly climbed down from her chair.
“Mama!”
She ran toward the waitress.
Before anyone could stop her, the child wrapped both arms around the waitress’s leg.
The young woman froze.
“Sweetheart…”
The girl looked up at her.
“Mommy, where did you go?”
The waitress’s heart skipped a beat.
The Wife Suddenly Lost Her Temper
“Enough!”
The mother’s voice echoed through the restaurant.
Everyone at the table stopped moving.
The beautiful woman stood abruptly from her chair.
She grabbed her daughter’s hand and pulled her gently but firmly away from the waitress.
“She is NOT your mother!”
The little girl immediately looked frightened.
“But she is…”
“No!”
The wife crouched in front of the children.
“Stop calling that woman ‘Mom.’ I’m your mother. Do you understand?”
The boy frowned.
“But she looks like—”
“Stop!”
The father finally stood.
“Don’t yell at them.”
His wife slowly turned toward him.
There was anger in her eyes now.
But underneath the anger was something else.
Suspicion.
“Then explain it.”
He didn’t respond.
She pointed toward the waitress.
“Why are both of our children calling a complete stranger their mother?”
“I don’t know.”
“Really?”
“Yes.”
The wife stared at him.
“Then why do you look terrified?”
That question silenced him.
The Waitress Started Feeling That Something Was Wrong
The young waitress looked at the children again.
Something about them suddenly felt strangely familiar.
The little girl’s eyes.
The boy’s smile.
She couldn’t explain it.
Her head began to hurt.
For a brief second, an image flashed through her mind.
A hospital room.
A baby crying.
Someone holding her hand.
Then darkness.
She grabbed the edge of the table.
“Are you okay?” the husband asked immediately.
The concern in his voice was unmistakable.
His wife noticed.
Her eyes narrowed.
“Why do you care so much?”
The man froze.
The waitress looked at him.
“Have we met before?”
“No.”
He answered instantly.
But this time, she knew he was lying.
The Little Boy Remembered Something
The boy quietly climbed down from his chair.
His mother tried to stop him.
But he walked directly toward the waitress.
He studied her face carefully.
Then he looked at her wrist.
There was a small birthmark near her hand.
The boy’s eyes widened.
“Mom had that.”
The wife suddenly went silent.
The waitress looked down at her wrist.
“What?”
The boy pointed.
“That mark.”
The waitress’s breathing became shallow.
The father immediately stepped forward.
“That’s enough. Sit down.”
But the boy shook his head.
“No.”
Then he said something that made the waitress’s entire body go cold.
“I remember you.”
She stared at him.
“How?”
The boy looked toward his father.
Then back at her.
“You used to sing to us.”
The waitress felt as though the room were spinning.
“I’ve never met you.”
“Yes, you have.”
“No…”
The little girl began crying.
“You left us.”
The waitress’s eyes filled with confusion.
“I didn’t…”
She looked toward the father.
“Who are these children?”
He couldn’t look her in the eyes.
His Wife Demanded the Truth
The wife stepped between them.
“Look at me.”
Her husband remained silent.
“I said, look at me.”
Slowly, he raised his eyes.
She pointed toward the waitress.
“Who is she?”
“I told you. I don’t know her.”
“Stop lying!”
People throughout the restaurant were now watching.
The wife didn’t care anymore.
“Our children recognize her.”
He said nothing.
“They’re calling her their mother.”
Still nothing.
“And you looked like you’d seen a ghost the second she walked over here.”
The man’s jaw tightened.
His wife stepped closer.
“So I’m going to ask you one last time.”
She pointed directly at the waitress.
“Who is this woman?”
The husband closed his eyes.
For several seconds, nobody moved.
Then the waitress noticed something.
There was an old photograph partially visible inside the man’s wallet on the table.
She reached toward it.
The husband suddenly realized what she was doing.
“No!”
But it was too late.
The waitress pulled out the photograph.
Her hands immediately began trembling.
It showed the same man several years younger.
He was standing beside a woman.
A blonde woman.
And in her arms were two babies.
The waitress stared at the picture.
Then she looked closer at the woman’s face.
Her breath stopped.
Because the woman in the photograph…
looked exactly like her.
“Why Am I in This Picture?”
The waitress looked at the husband.
Her voice trembled.
“Why do you have a picture of me?”
His wife snatched the photograph from her hand.
The moment she saw it, her expression changed completely.
She looked at her husband.
Then at the waitress.
Then at the two children.
“What is this?”
The man couldn’t answer.
The little girl ran back toward the waitress.
“Mama…”
This time, nobody stopped her.
The waitress looked down at the child, completely overwhelmed.
“I don’t understand.”
She turned toward the husband.
“Tell me what’s happening.”
His eyes filled with emotion.
He finally seemed ready to speak.
But his wife suddenly noticed something written on the back of the photograph.
A date.
And underneath it, three words:
“Before the accident.”
She slowly raised her eyes toward her husband.
“What accident?”
The man’s face went pale again.
The waitress stared at him.
“What happened to me?”
He swallowed.
Then finally whispered:
“You weren’t supposed to remember.”
The waitress froze.
The children stared at their father.
His wife stepped backward in horror.
And suddenly, what had begun as an ordinary family dinner had become something much darker.
Because the question was no longer why the children were calling the waitress “Mom.”
The real question was:
If she really was their mother… why didn’t she remember them?
And why had their father spent all these years making everyone believe she was gone?
To be continued in Part 3…
